2007 recap:
This was the year of the
Lemon! At one point they changed our name to “All Hogs
go to Lemon”, but it kept us at the pay window when our
meats were letting us down. Then I went to class and I
learned how to cook brisket and it took off. Besides the
dessert contest we entered anything else they would let
us. We did some good some not so good, from backyard
chicken to biscuits and gravy to salsa. Nothing scares
the hogs! I would like to take this time to thank my
team who makes my life easier:
Ardith who feeds us and
seems to take the brunt of all the teams yelling
(sorry).
Ted who is always setting
up camp and taking it down. The most important thing he
tells me is when to get gas. I ran out of gas the one
time he didn’t go, and he does all the turn in walking.
Ron who cooks whatever
category I ask him to, anybody who cooks tri-tip is a
winner in my book.
Toni the “garnish girl”
can make any food look good. I think she owns every
plate with a pig on it in California, and that stuff
isn’t cheap, talk about records needing to be sealed.
Vince who I’m probably the
hardest on, but he keeps coming back and that’s
good. He’s young! From getting in the truck somewhere in
Utah, to “please tell me what state I’m in” he hangs in
there. (Thanks)
Julie is our
webmaster. Thanks for all that you do in keeping the
website up to date and looking good.
And, last but not least my
wife Vicki who keeps supporting me when I come home and
say “Honey” and she just looks at me and says “Just let
me know when your leaving, so I can fill the truck with
gas”. Oh Yea, I am sorry for the shape of the truck when
we get back after 8 days on the road with me and Vince,
she deserves a metal.
In closing, I will try to
do a little better next year!
Thanks again,
