All Hogs go
to Heaven place in the Shake, Rattle and Smoke BBQ
Contest
One of California’s oldest
BBQ contests, Shake, Rattle and Smoke is a Kansas City
Barbeque Society (KCBS) Sanctioned BBQ Competition with
a State of California proclamation from the Governor.
The contest was held on
Sunday July 1, 2007 in conjunction with the 17th annual
San Jose Festival for Independence. It was a great day
for a BBQ in the Bay Area, while we celebrated
independence and all that it stands for. Our team this
time consisted of Steve Madaule, head cook, Vince
Madaule, assistant cook, and Art Madaule, runner. The
day was an action packed event with turn-in times and
people galore! All Hogs go to Heaven placed 4th
overall, with a 6th in Chicken, 1st
in Pull Pork, and a 9th in Brisket.
Special thanks to Ben
Lobenstein for all the hard work in arranging this
event. We would also like to thank John Hopkins and
Gene Goycochea for being the KCBS representatives.
