2nd Annual Wild West BBQ Championship

December 30, 2011 to January 2, 2012

Buena Park, California

The Wildwest BBQ championship this year was held across the street from Knotts Berry Farm.   It was a back to back contest with the first turn in on New Years Eve 2011 and the second turn in New Years day 2012.  The venue and the weather were great.  Days were in the 70’s and the nights in the low 50’s, the only issue was the fog which came in each evening and made it damp.  On New Years Eve we were in bed by 9:00 pm, and missed the Knotts Berry Farm fireworks.  We found out from those that did stay up, you couldn’t see the fireworks because of the fog.

 We finished the lst day overall in 18th place out of 38 teams with 19^th in chicken, 33^rd in ribs, 8^th in pork, and 16^th in brisket.  On the 2^nd day we finished 7^th overall out of 39 teams, with 17^th in chicken, 9^th in ribs, 13^th in pork, and 10^th in brisket. 

 We wish to thank Henry Silvestre for a great event.  He always has a well organized and fun event for the entire family.  Kathleen and Kelly McIntosh were the representatives and along with Justice kept everyone in line.
