Brentwood Police Assistance League (PAL)
Blues, Brews, and BBQ at the Streets of Brentwood
May 27-28, 2011
The Brentwood Police Activities League (BPAL)
is a 501©(3) nonprofit organization founded in 1998
through a grant offered by the John Muir Foundation.
BPAL was established to serve all children who live in
or attend school in Brentwood and adjoining communities.
BPAL strives to establish positive relationships between
our youth, police officers, and the community of
Brentwood. BPAL's goals are to provide alternatives to
gangs, drugs, and other criminal activities through a
vast array of programs. There was approximately
$50,000 raised for the weekend between the BBQ, Car
show, and vendors. We were very proud to be a part of
their success.
This was a great venue
located next to a huge shopping mall. The setting was
beautiful with classic cars lining the center of the
shopping mall which also include vendors and bands. We
arrived on Friday and started preparing the meat for the
next day. We entered the Farmers Choice and also
dessert category for the next day. The Farmers choice
turned out to be “Asparagus”. These are always fun
categories because you can use your imagination in
preparing the entry.
All Hogs go to Heaven
finished 15th out of 32 teams with a 3rd in chicken,
16th in ribs, 13th in pull pork, and 21st in Brisket.
Farmer’s choice we placed 1st out of 6 teams, and got a
1st in dessert out of 4 teams. We would like to thank
the promoters and the reps for an outstanding event.
